Off the street, onto the wall

The Front Youth Climbing Team is designed for climbers, ages 8-18 years old, wanting to improve on their climbing skills and take their climbing to the next level. The Team is split into Competitive and Recreational tracks.

The Competitive Track emphasizes technique, strength, training, and strategy for significant increases in climbing ability. The Competitive Track travels and participates in climbing competitions.

The Recreational Track puts a similar emphasis on climbing skill improvement, but to a lesser extent and in a more recreational and social atmosphere. Most climbers on the Recreation Track will not travel to competitions, though they may choose to do so.

Placement on either track is based essentially on the climber’s interest and commitment level.

Team Mission

Our mission is for our athletes to see that climbing can be a lifelong pursuit, enjoyed year-round and one that will always remain challenging, rewarding, and a means of self-enrichment.

When

The Competitive Team meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 6:30p-8:00p.

The Recreational Team meets Monday and Wednesday from 5:30p-6:30p.

USAC Competitions

USA Climbing (USAC) is the national governing body of competition climbing in the United States. The bouldering discipline is represented by the American Bouldering Series (ABS). USA Climbing receives sanctioning and is recognized by: The International Federation for Sport Climbing, the International Olympic Committee, and the United States Olympic Committee.

We’re part of the Big Sky Region which also includes Wyoming, Montana, Oregon and Western North and South Dakota.

USAC membership is required for:

• competitors in Regional events
• competitors in National events
• all US Team Members

A USAC membership includes ranking for your respective category of membership, access to all sanctioned competitions. A USA Climbing membership which includes access to competitions in difficulty, speed and bouldering is $55.00.

For those of you who only attend a comp or two, you have the option of paying a non-member fee of $5 per comp, which will get you ranked for that comp and will put you in the overall USA Climbing database.

Cost

Competitive Team is $105/month for members.

Recreational Team is $75/month for members.

Tuition includes exceptional coaching and instruction, as well as all equipment needed. Payments are made automatically and any team member can choose to cancel their involvement any time prior to their next bill date. Involvement on The Team is only for members of The Front.
